The olive branch is a universal symbol of peace. However, in today's world, speaking about peace can feel particularly challenging amidst widespread pain and suffering. As an artist born in Jerusalem, I have always aspired to peace for all. Unfortunately, at the time of writing, peace seems like a distant dream, yet I continue to hope for a future where peace is possible—one that does not ignore the difficult past but seeks to repair what is broken, creating a reality more precious thanks to that past.

This artwork draws inspiration from Kintsugi (golden repair), the traditional Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. This technique, and its underlying philosophy, sees breakage and repair as integral to an object's history rather than flaws to be hidden.

Despite all the difficulty in connecting so many broken pieces, the process of repair and reconnection is possible and can result in something more beautiful and special than the original thing.
